Topic Question On the American Express Blue Go to previous topic Go to next topic Go to higher level

By Gstamina On 01/09/01

I amtwenty years old and I am looking into getting another credit card. I have had a Discover card for about 6 months and have always kept up my bill. I also have a Structure, Rich's and two debit cards. I was wondering if there might be any type of difficulties with me getting approved for the Amex Blue card? I also wanted to know if there are any large disadvantages to the card, like maybe if I should chose to apply for a diffrent card. I would appreciate any info you can give me. Thanks alot!!

It may be a little early to apply for Blue from American Express. I believe Blue is designed for people with a couple of years of good credit under their belt. That's great you are paying your bills on time, this insures that you will eventually qualify for a low rate card. If you are a student you may want to apply for a student card, and transition to a low rate card after building up more of a credit history. Also, if you need more of a credit line you could ask Discover to bump it up.
