Hi, In mid August 2000, I used my USA federal credit union VISA credit card to order online at babygear.com. They charged the card immediately but later e-mailed me that the item ordered is out of stock! I cancelled the order, but the charges were not posted back by babygear.com . Whenever I contacted them cust service reps always assured me to take care of it immediately, but nothing happened for 7 calls in the span of almost 4 months. Then I talked to a cust service supervisor (at babygear.com) who promised to give me a call after an hour, on which he promptly called me and said it is taken care and my credit card should show that in 2-3 days. After 2 days, I checked myccinfo.com, there was no credit. I called babygear, com toll free number, it is out of service. I went to their website - it said they are out of biz. As I beliveed those reps, I did not dispute it with my bank. Do I have a chance to get that money (app. $ 70) back ? Or is it too late? As a record of this problem, I have a e-mail sent from their website, when I cribbed to them at their website chat session.
Any suggestion .. similar experiences? I did not even call my bank at all, as this mess upset me.
Regards, UNShetty

The time frame for credit card disputes is within 60 days of the disputed charge appearing on your bill. Unfortunately, it sounds like you are beyond this time frame.
I would still call your bank and see if there is any assistance they can offer you. Sometimes a call from a bank will prompt a company to send a refund.
You may want to call the Attorney General's office of the state where babygear.com was located. Sometimes they can help in cases like this.
