I just turned 18, I have a good paying job and i have a checking account. I cant apply for a student card cuz i havent graduated hs yet. Ive tried to apply for just about everything with no results. What can I do for credit?

Well, you say that you "have applied for just about everything with no results". Every time you apply for credit, there is an "inquiry" on your credit reports. Too many inquiries within a short time period is not a good thing. This could be hindering your ability to get approved for a card. If this is the case, you'll need to wait a few months and then try for one card and see what happens.

By the way, as long as you're 18, you can apply for any card you want. There's no need to be a college student to apply for a student card.

What are the reasons given for your declines? Perhaps there is some other reason you're not being approved.

You may want to have one of your parents co-sign an application or list you as an authorized user on an existing account. I am not sure about this, but I believe that if you have someone co-sign you will be building a credit history, whereas if you are simply an authorized user you are not. Either way you can have a card with your name on it. Some student cards require that you be enrolled in a college and some even require that it is a 4 year program.

Good Luck.
