Topic getting card with no Soc. Security # Go to previous topic Go to next topic Go to higher level

I just got rejected (insufficient credit history) from Chase bank yesterday. I graduated from University in May (i was an international student), and now I am working in Massachusetts. I don't have a social security number or any credit history. How can I get a credit card and start off my credit history?

American Express Optima secured card or Amex charge card (secured.)
But I think they do not report your payments to the credit bureaus without SS#
so you will be building a credit history with Amex only.

I suggest you to apply for a SS# or a Tax ID and then to apply for some secured
card.

Good Luck my friend!!
