Right now I have two major credit cards and a lot of revolving credit cards. I want to keep my Best Buy, Dell, and Bloomingdales. But I have other department store cards that I have never even uses. I also would like to close my Capital One Card as well since I never use that either. I just want to keep my one major credit card. Is this a bad idea?

Assuming your objective (or one of the objectives) is to maximize your credit score, you should keep in mind that sometimes having an extra card (a major credit card) increases your score in situations when you carry a balance, because it increases the ratio between your credit line and your debt (if the ratio is too small, it may look like you're "maxed out" and are, potentially, "desperate" for credit... Card issuers never like that).

I would agree with your decision on the department store cards. The Capital One situation is trickier for the above reason (it actually may increase your score).
