my credit is derogitory from six years ago how do i start over.
should i do a bankrutcy? its about 10,000

Although we can not give legal advice, in these circumstances filing for bankruptcy does not seem to be the solution. Also, $10,000 does not seem to be a very high amount. If you have difficulty making minimum payments, you should try to negotiate the amount with the issuer or consolidate your debt.

Note that most "negative" stuff will eventually be deleted from your credit profile (7 years is the period for most negative information, 10 years for bankruptcies). So if you had some unpaid debt 6 years ago, just wait another year for your credit rating to improve!
