Hi, My name is Venkat. I used to hold a Standard Chartered Credit Card "Gold". I failed to pay the 2 - 3 installments during the year 2003 due to some financial imbalances, then afterwards they included my name in Defaulter's list. After inclusion also I used to pay minimum amounts regularly. One day I have cleared all my outstanding including with whatever may be the charges they have imposed. Now I have a credit balance of Rs. 50/-, but still they neither renewed the card nor they removed my name from Defaulter's list. I shall be grateful if you could advise me how to remove my name from the Defaulter's list. Regards, Venkat

We have very limited (practically non-existent) experience with the Indian market, so I am not sure how to answer this question.
In the US, such information may stay on your credit report for several years. Indian legislation and credit information reporting rules may be very different.
