I just moved to the states from the caribbean and i knew nothing of credit til i moved here. i'm 20 years old and have been a permanent resident since i was a few months old. i am very hesitant about applying for a cc because i dont know anything about them.i'm concerned about annual fees,high risks of freud,benefits and so on.please tell me which card would be more suitable for someone like me

Hi,

At this point, you should try to apply for a card that would accept you. Based on what you're describing, not every issuer would. It helps if you're in college - if this is the case, you should apply for a student card. Otherwise, you might have to start from the bottom (i.e. a card for people with no credit / damaged credit).
