Some of your listings mention that "good" credit or "excellent" credit is needed. Can you give me an idea of what you mean by this? I know that everything is not precise but is a 630 credit score good, fair or what? I don't want to apply for cards that I no prayer of getting and, in doing so, hurt my credit more (too many inquiries). Can you help?

Unfortunately, every issuer uses a different method for determining credit quality and these methods are a closely guarded secret. They don't translate DIRECTLY into your FICO score.

The difference between "good" and "excellent" usually lies in the lenght of time your credit has been establieshed (you need 5+ years to be able to say that you have "excellent" credit) and several ratios such as the ratio between your total credit line and your outstanding balance.
