Hi,
I want to get a credit card but no one will give me one .I keep getting denied because I have "insufficient credit history on file."I have no credit history but I do have a US social security number, as I have work on college campus.I own a car and i have pay for the telephone and insurance bill every month.
Do you have any suggestion any card i can apply?

First of all, you should not apply for cards you can not get (which is to say most cards) - that will only damage your record.

Student cards are one option, the other being store cards or gas cards (handy if you drive a car). The latter are typically easier to get and they will establish your credit history. If your bank offers overdraft protection which is reported as a credit line, you might want to get that too.

As a last resort, you may try getting a secured
card - just make sure you understand what it is.

Good luck!

Hey,

I have been an international student myself. To start with it is very hard to get credit cards. But once you get one, the rest will follow suit. I started with ATT Universal Mastercard and American Express Optima and then the rest just came by. As long as you have a social you have a chance to apply.

I am sure you will get one.

Good Luck!
