Topic What can a 16 year old do? Go to previous topic Go to next topic Go to higher level

I am 16, yes, very young for a credit card, but I am looking ahead, to where I can build myself good credit by the time I am in my early 20's. Anyways, I co-signed with my mom for a credit card through our credit union, and was approved. But, the APR is 12.99, and I want to transfer my current balance to something like NextCard, etc, which are 9.99% APR with no annual fee. None of these online applications are working, because there is no way I can enter in the co-signer's financial/personal information. My mom and I have looked all over and had no luck. How can I do this. I have paid off 6 bills in full already, and I have new charges now. My limit is 500.00, not bad I think.

Matt, I believe you are doing quite well for 16. If you want a lower rate card you will need your mom to once again co-sign for a card, until you are 18 years old. However, 12.99% with a credit limit of $500 is pretty good.
