They had all my info except my Social security number(SSN)..They asked me for my SSN. I asked if the have it already and wantted to checked it out...they asked one more time but I didn't give my number....Did I do right?? Are they allow to ask me for my SSN by phone? Please, all answers will be welcomed.... thanks

Matrixman,

The rule of thumb in such cases is to ask for a 1-800 number where you can call the person back.

Of course, Discover can call you and ask for information... if it's really Discover calling, that is. And the best way to check is to ask for a call-back number of the extention of the person you're speaking with. Just tell them you'll call them back in 1-2 minutes. The number they give you should route you through the corporate system, so you'll hear something like "Welcome to ...(name of the bank)..".

Hope this helps...
