I have absolutely no debt. I am 22 years old. I am not in college nor do I plan to be. I have checking and a savings account. I need to know what the best card to start out with is.. please help me find a great starting credit card.

I would recommend speaking to the bank where you have a checking and savings account. Because you have a relationship with this financial institution they will be more likely to issue you a card. If that is unsuccessful, you can start with a store card to build a credit history. Good luck!

Would a short online course on building credit and managing credit cards be of interest? The reason I ask is, we are thinking of adding this feature on the site. Thanks in advance for your reponse.

Colin,

Please let me know if I can be of assistance with the credit building procedure. I have personally been working in the credit arena for about 9 years and understand the credit system like the back of my hand. I have personally sat down with Equifax, Experian, Trans Union and Fair Issacc Co. (the people who developed the credit score) and learned what it takes to rebuild, build, and recover from credit issues all in the benefit of having a possitive effect on the credit score.

cordially,

credit expert
