I am 18 years old. I am in the Army, but take online classes at Central Texas College. I pay my bills on time and always in full. I have applied for credit cards and been turned down, so eventhough my credit is good without a long credit history, I'm still having problems with getting a credit card. Can I apply for a student credit card since lenders seem to offer better rates to students than to someone with good credit, but not a long history?

Most student cards are for students enrolled in a 4 year university. Do you have a checking and savings account? Also, do you have any store cards?
If you have been turned down for a credit card you can receive your credit report for free from the credit bureau the issuer used, it might be a good idea to check and see what is on your report.
