I declared bankruptcy in 9-99, I am on check systems, so I can't even open a bank account. If my name is on someone else's credit card as a secondary user, will that help rebuild my credit?

Not unless this is a joint account. If you are simply an authorized user, than ultimately the responsibility to pay the bills lies with the primary cardholder. I don't understand why you can't open a bank account? Good Luck!

BJM,
Getting removed from check systems is pretty easy. All you have to do is contact them and ask why you're there. Maybe there was a check that bounced in the past for $3.50-- All they will do is ask you to pay the check and BAM your out of their system. I would also suggest trying to open an account with a credit union- they typically do not check "check systems" Also, being added as an authorized user on a credit card will increase your scores only if the primary account holder has a good paying history-- I've done this myself.
