Topic Next Card falsely advertised 9.9 Go to previous topic Go to next topic Go to higher level

By Alan Smith On 04/13/02

I received an invite from Next Card Visa for a balance transfer on a 0% introductory rate or a 9.9 annual on going. I chose the 9.9 as it was stated to be on going.

Next card claims the 9.9 was also introductory. It makes no sense to choose 9.9% over a 0% for 90 days and I chose the 9.9 ongoing.

I am now stuck with 18.99% on an unsecured $4500 balance.

How/where can I find an honest carrier for another transfer?

I have filed a complaint to the comptroller of the currency and FTC on their fraudulent scam!

The optima card from Amex offers an 8.9% fixed rate until your transferred balance is paid off. If you have an excellent credit history this may be a good option. Also, the Discover Platinum offers 0% until Nov 2002 for transferred balances. Take a look at http://www.creditcardmenu.com
