I am a college student and i wanted to know what would be the best thing! I would hardly ever use it but I want to establish some kind of credit! SO, if u dont purchase anything do u get charged or is it that u only get charged fees if ur payment is late? I just want to know if i dont purchase anything what will happen?

You establish a credit history by using your credit card. This doesn't mean you need to charge alot of stuff, but you should use it occassionally.
Assuming that you get a card with no annual fee, the fees that you will occur only come from usage. If you do not pay your balance in full each month, you will be charged finance charges. And if you pay late you will be charged a late fee.(I highly recommend you not pay late, it hurts your credit rating)
Are you enrolled at a 4 year school?
