Thanks for your reply.

I think my credit history is good it'll be excellent in a month or two once a settlement
issue from my Discover account disappears from my credit history.

I believe the interest rate to the MBNA loan was 17.99% or 15.99% - that seemed a
little high to me with options to pay at 36, 48 or 60 months. I don't understand the
origination costs as it relates to loans, please elaborate. Also, as I stated I was a little
leery about MBNA's reputation given that there is a website called MBNA sucks,
among other things.

Thanks again.

It could make sense to wait until your credit report is cleaned up if you think this will land you a better rate.

The APR of 17.99% seems high given that the prime rate is currently at 5% and you believe your credit is good. As far as any fees with obtaining a loan are concerned, you need to ask the issuer of the loan if there are any fees for getting the loan. This could help you decide if you want to transfer balances on to a credit card that does not have balance transfer fees or go with a debt consolidation loan.

I have never dealt with MBNA, so I don't know if they "suck". I am sure that every card issuer has some unsatisfied customers, and if you have an unsatisfied customer who likes to build websites... I would probably base my decision on a larger sample.
