I am graduating high school in may and will be turning 18 in June. I currently have two cards which are co-signed with my mother, as well as a co-signed auto loan. Here are the specifics:
1. Credit Union Visa Card, 11.89% APR, 25 day grace period, $300 limit, Account opened 07/00' 2. Capital One Visa Gold Card (upgraded from the High School Card), 12.9% fixed APR, 25 day grace, $2000 limit upped from $1000 in Sep. 01', Account opened 09/00' 3. Auto loan from credit union, 11/00 to 07/01, refinanced with other credit union for lower rate in 07/01 to current.
All accounts have perfect payment history with no missed payments and debt utilization well under 30% on the credit card accounts. The beginning loan balance of the currently refinanced auto loan was $3,698, and is currently at $3,159, meaning I still owe 85% of the original amount.
I am looking for a card or two to apply for in June after I graduate high school. I will be starting college that fall. I have heard Discover is good, as well as MBNA. I would appreciate any input from others as to what would be a good student card to start out on.

You are already off to a good start with the cards you have. If you want a card of your own, the Amex student card is a solid choice: Intro APR of 8.9% for 6 months, Ongoing APR of prime rate + 7.99%, $0 Annual fee. Plus savings on airfares with Continental Airlines.
