I was wondering how all of this works. Being totally ignorant of credit card use this is the way I think it works, someone please correct me if I am wrong. If I make the full payment on what I charge there will be no extra fees besides what I pay for my items. Right??? Someone please help.

You are correct. If you do not carry a balance from month to month, you should not be charged interest. That is known as the grace period.
