i was told there is a new way to save for kids college etc......when using credit cards at certain merchants they match your purchase amount into an account set up for your kids.....promise you....or i promise to ...????......anyone heard of this?????

I've never heard of this. Have your tried researching it on the Net? If you find out anything, please let us know!

Try www.UPromise.com Vendors pay a percentage of your total purchase (1%, 2%, some more) into an account with UPromise for your designated recipient (the little one who will be going to college someday). When enough money accumulates it is swept to a 509 educational fund that you will have to set up. The money does not come from the credit card companies, rather, the credit card number is used to track your spending with program retailers.
