I'm a UK resident but currently in the US at graduate school. Where can I get a credit card that doesn't require me to be a US citizen or permenant resident?

Sera,

Let me just say that I am not an expert here, but I think you can get a credit card as long as you have a valid Social Security Number (if you are or are planning to be a TA or an RA, you should get one anyway). As far as credit card issuers are concerned, you are a resident if you live in the U.S. You're in graduate school, you're going to be here for a few years, may be longer.. you are a resident!

Another question is how to establish your credit history, but this was discussed many time on this board already...
