Hi guys, I've already moved in the process with Experian at getting inquiries off my report. Hopefully this works. My ass friends got ahold of some of my information and applied to 5 or 6 credit card companies. How can I get these inquiries investigated and removed from equifax and trans union. I have read elsewhere they are a pain in the ass to get the inquiries removed; they tell you to talk to the creditor about it, which doesn't make sense to me, because the credit bureau is the one who removes the inquiries, correct? Let me know how I can get a start. Thanks!

You do need to deal with the Creditors themselves to get the inquiries removed.
Here is a site with a sample letter you can use to dispute the inquiries: >http://creditexpert.tripod.com/letterinq.htm You will need to slightly adjust the letter to reflect your particular situation. If they find in your favor, the Creditors will deal with having the inquiries removed from your credit reports.
By the way, you can have your friends charged with credit fraud. This is slightly beyond an innocent prank.

I recently have tried to deal with experian concerning my recent problems with capital one. I have conflicting credit entries from capital one, in my credit report from experian they have my account with capital one as closed and in good standing, but, in the negative items they have the same account as late for 180 days even though the account was closed in 1998. I have contacted capital one by mail regarding this issue and was sent two different letters addresed the same day. The first letter stated that the account was re-opened due to a recent charge (not made by me!! but my ex-wife) for the amount of $4.07. On the other hand, the other letter stated that the account was closed. My question is, what is the deal with capital one and their inability to keep their records straight? this is causing problems with my ability to re-establish a good credit rating. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
