I am a college student looking for a credit card, and I received an offer thru the mail. The APR will only last till 04/01. If I don't make any purchases, will there be a charge? How can I check? Also, if I want to get rid of a credit card, can I do it without any charge at anytime?
Thanks!

If you don't make any purchases and the card does not have an annual fee you will not be charged. The APR determines how much interest you will be charged if you carry a balance each month. You can cancel a card at anytime without penalty. The best way to close an account is to send in a letter to the issuer and request that the account be closed and that this information be reported to the credit bureau. Make sure your letter goes to the correct address for closing accounts. I would also call them and let them know. Good Luck!
