Some countries are already using a new a credit service, a e-card. It's a virtual card that the owner has just the number. It is not usable offline. May question is: Is this a future of credit card or just one more Marketing tool made by banks? Would not be more interesting if the credit card could combine features from the world offline and online, such as Next Card of Visa?

I am not sure about the e-card, but new features have been added to some traditional credit card products to handle online ecommerce. For instance, some products are providing 100% online fraud protection. Does the e-card allow you to make micropayments, say $.50? This is an area that a traditional credit card product falls short.

Colin,
I have another point to clear up. I work on internet site in Central America and we have a project to create a credit card shopping, where the client could search a credit card is better in according to his profile. This search would be done by searching tools as we can do in this site. The root of the question is: Is this gonna be a profitable business? I could charge money from the banks for each new client that come through my site. How about this site, is it profitable? Does it has a nice level of visits and page views? Tks for your comprehension and sorry to be so directly.
