somewhere along the way I picked up a very sketchy-looking photocopy of a photocopy of a summary of the laws on obtaining credit reports, protections for the individual, etc. In there was stated that a person can obtain a report if they can "verify" that they are unemployed and intend to find a job within the next 60 days... anybody know anything about this? i.e., how do I take advantage of it--should I just write a letter to Experian or something? would this sort of request appear as a negative entry on my report?

thanks in advance,

Paul

I believe you are correct but I would start by calling the credit bureaus.
