I put it in the heading, I am sorry I did not expound on it. I am disabled and divorced, on a very low/moderate fixed income, high medical, pharmaceutical and dental expenses not covered by Medicare. I get $88.00 a month too much to be eligible for housing assistance, medicaid, etc. There is no way for me to "get a raise". I am looking for a way to find out how to absolve myself from my ex's and my bad credit after 6 plus years of charge offs. I AM paying on my present cards, have good local credit it it just from my divorce and some medical bills (he was court ordered to pay, but has stopped, we are going to mediation). I was told you can get your credit rating reinstated to good after 7 years, is that true???? Please help me...thanks, Ellie in Florida

Charge offs, as long as you have not been making any payments on them, will normally drop off of your credit reports after 7 years. I believe that is what you are referring to.
It sounds like you are current and making payments on the card you use. That's good. :)
