Hello,
My current credit card requires 120,000 pts for a trip to Asia. I am trying to find out if the American Airlines credit card would be better. It is administered by Citibank but after six phone calls between CItibank and AA I have been unable to find out any info.
Does anyone have a comparison of the number of points that each card charges for a domestic, International, and Asian flight? I am betting that their is a huge difference amongst them given the difficulty in finding out the information

From what I have encountered, many programs will allow you to travel domestically for about 20,000 to 30,000 points. 120,000 points to go to Asia would make sense because an airline ticket to Asia is about 4 to 5 times as expensive as most domestic flights. How much is the annual fee for your current card and how much is the Citibank AA card?

Hi Colin,
Well I have left the fact sheet at work but from memory or was 50,000 within US, 80,000 to Europe, and 120,000 to Asia which I thought was very high indeed. The card does has no annual fee. As to the Citibank AA card I don't know because I am still trying to find out the point scheme. AA told me it was 65,000 to Asia but I think they were talking about American Advantage Miles that you earn through their flyer program and not through the credit card. I will keep trying to find out the information. Thanks for your reply \ Carlha
