I've never had a credit card but I have:

payed of a car (mom co-signed), Kept a steady job for seven years. lived at the same address for three years, payed most of my bills on time (I was a few months late with some hospital bills and occasionally a phone bill but I always payed them in full.)

Does this mean I have no credit, good credit or bad credit?

Your credit profile sounds ok, except for the late payment on the hospital bills and the fact that you do not have a credit card. The problem with paying something late is that late payments will appear on your credit report for 7 years, assuming that this information was reported to a credit bureau. I have three suggestions:

1)Obtain your credit report(s). You need to know what the credit card companies will be looking at before you apply. Also, you can request that incorrect information be changed.
2)Obtain a credit card. You need to build a "good" or "excellent" rating by having different types of credit outstanding. Credit Cards are a key component in your rating.
3)Join our monthly "Quick Credit Tips". We have an expert send free monthly tips by email, which will help you make smart decisions and save money. To sign up send an email to theinsider@creditcardmenu.com
